Thermal Spray Process
Thermal
Spray coatings are produced from either wire or powder materials
that are melted into droplets, then propelled onto the selected substrate.
Upon impact, they form platelets that bond to the surface, creating
a dense, protective coating with no alteration to the substrate structure.
The combination of coatings and substrate allows designers and engineers to produce products with enhanced surface properties no inherent in the orginal material. |
Coating
Material Properties |
|
| Pure Metals | Versitile category, including materials for applications from anodic corrosion protection to aesthetic purposes. |
| Metal Alloys | Versitile category, including materials for applications from anodic corrosion protection to aesthetic purposes.. |
| Carbides | Primarily used for wear, erosion, and abrasion resistance, suitable for chrome plating replacement applications. |
| Ceramics | Exhibit wear resistance, high dielectric strength, hot corrosion and chemical resistance, used on anilox print rolls. |
| Abradables | Used to improve the engine performance by reducing the clearance between the blades of the surrounding casings. |
| Pack Diffusion | Applied to components to resist sulphidation and hot oxidation resistance. |
